I'm looking for a text editor (BeOS of course) for either Desktop or
terminal, but it's got to have a couple of things:

1. decent Brief emulation
2. block marking that includes properly implemented column marking:
cut/copy/paste.

Pe doesn't. Eddie doesn't. posix Jed doesn't.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you are asking about,
but I guess XEmacs would be the answer :P
If only I had time to make a native GUI...
